Privacy Policy
Effective May 11, 2026
1. Overview
Clarity Faith("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our websites and products, including the Clarity web app (https://claritybible.ai) and the Clarity mobile apps for iOS and Android.
2. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and any profile information you provide, including an optional display name and faith tradition.
Study data. Notes, highlights, bookmarks, lesson plans, chat history, and reading positions you create in the app.
Usage data. We collect information about how you interact with our services, including queries submitted, features used, and session activity. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment).
Device identifier. On mobile, we store a per-install identifier in the iOS Keychain or Android encrypted storage to enforce fair-use limits and recover sessions. This identifier is never linked to advertising networks or shared with data brokers, and we do not collect the Android Advertising ID.
Voice features. When you use voice dictation in chat on mobile, your microphone audio is processed by your device's built-in speech recognizer (Apple on iOS, Google on Android). Clarity Faith itself does not record, store, or transmit raw audio from your microphone. When the app reads text aloud, only the text — not your voice — is sent to our text-to-speech provider.
Payment information. Payments are processed by third-party providers (Apple for iOS, Google for Android, Stripe for the web). We do not store full payment card details.
Contact messages. When you contact us through our contact form or email, we retain that correspondence to respond to your inquiry.
Automatically collected data. We collect IP addresses, user-agent strings, and timestamps through standard server logs for security and abuse prevention. Server logs are retained for up to 7 days.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and improve our services
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To respond to your inquiries and support requests
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts)
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your Bible study queries or personal data for advertising purposes.
4. AI and Query Processing
Queries you submit to our AI tools are processed to generate responses. We may retain queries to improve our models and services. We do not associate your queries with personally identifiable information in any way that is shared externally.
5. Data Sharing
We share data only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate Clarity. Each receives only the data necessary to perform their service:
- Supabase — database, authentication, backend infrastructure.
- Google (Gemini API) and, when configured, OpenAI — to generate AI responses. Chat messages are sent to the active provider to produce an answer. Under our API agreements, neither provider stores or trains on your content.
- Google Cloud (Text-to-Speech) and OpenAI (TTS) — to synthesize spoken audio from text.
- RevenueCat — to manage subscription state across iOS, Android, and web.
- Apple, Google Play, Stripe — to process payments. Card data goes directly from you to them; we never touch it.
- Vercel — to host the Clarity web app and marketing site.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Clarity Faith, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If Clarity Faith is acquired or merged, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not share data with advertisers.
6. Data Retention
We retain different categories of data for different periods:
- Account data — kept while your account is active; removed within 30 days of deletion request.
- Server logs (IP, user-agent) — up to 7 days.
- Subscription audit events — retained for up to 7 years to comply with financial recordkeeping obligations.
- Backups — encrypted backups are kept on a 30-day rolling window.
You may delete your account at any time. In the Clarity app, open Settings → your account → Delete account to permanently remove your account on confirmation. You can also email support@clarityfaith.com with the subject "Delete my account." We may retain certain records (e.g., billing audit trails) as required by law.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Data portability
To exercise any of these rights, contact us.
8. Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
9. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
